As a start of this page I offer you a list of my favorite comics, in no real particular order, although Sandman=my number one:
Boneby Jeff Smith. This comic brings fantasy the way I wish I could. I love the characters, love the setting. I really regret this series is coming to the inevitable end one day soon.
(Cartoon Books)
by Frank Cho. This is one of the comics I tend to run to my comic book store for. Wickedly funny, very lovable characters. Comedy in Comics does not go any better than this.

The Vertigo/Paradox comics written by JM de Matteis. These comics brought tears to my eyes. This man writes moving, brilliant tales that bring shivers up and down my spine when I think about them. Reading his work, really makes me believe that this writer has a view of spirituality similar to mine. There is a feeling of reading something of a kindred soul when I read his writing. Especially when he works together with Jon J. Muth he moves me. They complement each other perfectly.
(Vertigo, except Brooklyn Dreams (Paradox))
ie the issues written by Bendis, art by David Mack. I had a prejudice towards superhero comics. Superficial and ignorant I called them, amongst other not so nice words. I had to swallow em all. I read these issues and I was beyond moved. Beautiful story, moving art. This is what comics are all about for me. I read these books after I saw Daredevil in the cinema, and after I saw the comic talk on dvd. I will have to read the Miller run, and the Kevin Smith run now.
(Marvel)
by Tony Millionaire. I had never heard of sock monkeys until these comic books. I love the art, I love the characters, I love the wickedness hidden underneath all the sweet friendly characters. And as for sock monkeys... Now I have made two, one of them is waiting for his rightful place in the comics cupboard :)
this is it for now, be sure to check back, I will add more favorites soon!
