These are short stories I've posted on Mastodon using prompts by the lovely Faerie. I thought it would be fun if I'd gather them in one place :D
I have an addiction to cups. I just have to have them whenever I spot them.
The green cup in the discount store? Mine.
The vintage orange teacup from the thrift store? Mine.
The box of teacups from the old lady who died down the street? Mine, of course.
It’s like a siren’s call, I always know where to find good deals for cups. I’ve just bought bone china cups an eBay seller listed with a spelling error. I knew they were vintage Wedgwood and I got them for a steal.
They will arrive in 8 to 12 days. I can wait, as I’m saving them for dessert on a feast day.
They crunch so nicely between my molars.
"Mom! I have something for you!"
Kiki rushed to her mom and gave her an envelope, stained with her grubby fingers.
Her mom looked at the envelope, and said, "What's that?"
Kiki tilted her head and said, "I saw the note on the table. It said cardamom. So, I made you a card! You did write it wrong I think because it should be card for mom, not card a mom!"
Her mom smiled, opened the envelope, read the card, smiled so bright Kiki got a bit shy.
Kiki giggled, "What?"
Her mom gave her a hug. "You're the most perfect daughter, you know that?"
Kiki glggled, and said, hugging her mom back, "Mom! You're silly!"
