the simple joys
It is so easy to forget
To let joy take the driver's seat
To let what I love drive my day
And, instead, surrender to fear
To let the thoughts overwhelm
To see only darkness
On a bright sunny day
To lose myself completely
I need to remember, I find truth
Within words of ancient wisdom
Speaking of letting go, simple joys
And in that I find, a freeing breath
A breath that widens my world
In which I let in the sun
And allow it to beam within me
Soft radiant love envelops me
