All you can do is your best
Dear Creative Soul,
I have had several health issues over the years, and I have let them stop me from creating.
I have had days where I felt so weighed down by pain that the only thing I did was stare at my computer screen all day, watching stuff.
I have also had days where I felt reasonably well, but didn’t create anything.
All of these days have one thing in common. At the end of the day I felt disappointed or angry at myself for not creating.
Getting angry at yourself is so counterproductive.
And guess what it does for your health? Nothing good either.
So, I have made a change.
I've decided that each day, I will live my best life.
Sometimes that means I write 2000 words. Sometimes that means I art journal all day. Sometimes I take a walk and then read a good book. Sometimes that means I lie in bed and eat cookies and watch a show I love.
If I can look back on each day and say that I have done my best, then I am happy!
This also works wonders for my creative adventures. I can honestly say that this decision has made me so much more creative.
And when I am frustrated again, I just have to look back and know I did my best.
So should you.
Create on!
Sylvia
