An ode to my favourite pen

Years ago I discovered the Pilot V7 at my favourite online pen shop.

I loved to write with it, I had one in several colours. There was one downside to it though: it was disposable.

Eventually I switched to other pens, but always missed this one.

And then I was on my favourite pen shop's website again to look for refills for something else and found that they’ve made my favourite pen with ink cartridges!

I immediately bought four, the V5 in black and blue and the V7 in black and blue.

Turns out, the V5 is perfect for my daily journal, it’s in a Traveler’s notebook passport size, and I tend to write tiny in it. The V7 is perfect for my notepad, where I write my daily lists, or braindumps, or brainstorm my writing. It’s a perfect combination.

All the pens I bought since I ditched the disposable V7 are now going unused, except for my fountain pen. I like to write long-form journal entries or poetry with a fountain pen in my larger size Traveler’s notebook.

The funny thing is? Both my fountain pen and my V7 are dirt cheap. I have had pens that were so much more expensive, and all the pens were touted as the best ever by others.

Not by me.

My favourite pen is a € 2,50 Pilot V7, and my favourite fountain pen is a € 3,99 Platinum Preppy.

Both are refillable, and I toss the cartridges in recycling when they’re done. The V5 and V7 are really economic with ink. I’ve written loads with both and still haven’t had to switch cartridges.

Perfect!
