Bandcamp Friday recommendations part 2
It's Bandcamp Friday! A day where all proceeds of sales on Bandcamp go to the artist. And as it's a year since I wrote myprevious list, I thought it was high time I'd share some recent purchases/recommendations.
- Miss Grit - Under My Umbrella- My most recent purchase, discovered on Bandcamp by clicking around the new section and falling completely in love with the song Stranger. The full album isn't out yet, but you can preorder it!
- Ye Vagabonds - All Tied Together - One of the best new folk bands around. This new album is one of their best imho.
- Lówli - Window in the Woods- Another artist I discovered by clicking around. Her voice is so beautiful and soothing, The perfect wind-down and relax with a cup of coffee music.
- Jesca Hoop - Selective Memory - I don't even remember how I heard of this album. I think on Mastodon? It's an amazing album, acoustic versions of the songs from the album Memories Are Now, but I think that I like these versions better.
- I'm With Her - Wild and Clear and Blue - I discovered this band on Bandcamp while browsing the singer songwriter or folk category last year for new music, shortly after their album came out. I'm glad that their Grammy win means that more people discover them now.
- Watchhouse - Rituals- I love their first album too, but this one has something special.
- Kestrels - Better Wonder - Another band I discovered by clicking around. The album just brings me joy.
- Ixi - Decca- what a mesmerising album, found it on Bandcamp's blog I think, in one of the things I love about Bandcamp, discovered such good music on it.
- Hokø & Damien Fleau - Jazz in Tokyo - This fantastic lofi/jazz album is perfect for quiet afternoons. I love to listen to it when I need to find some calm or while I'm readling.
- Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh - Neadú- Her voice just draws you in, the music is so strong and so moving. It doesn't even matter that you don't understand the words, as it is mostly in Gaelic, you feel the emotion in each and every note.
Enjoy shopping! :)
