Gaming silliness (and life)
So I play Stardew Valley on the phone and on my iPad usually, and am used to some things that are phone app only.
But now I’ve bought a Switch lite, I’ve also installed the game there, and boy oh boy, it’s an adjustment.
The main thing is that the phone app automagically switches tools and the Switch app doesn’t.
Just now my little character lost all health because I futzed with the menu and by the time I was at the right one, my character was in the hospital.
I got frustrated, stopped and then just laughed and laughed at myself.
I love that a silly game can drive me nuts. That accepting such a small change can mean that I mess things up that were so easy at first.
And that’s so applicable to my life. It’s so easy to get frustrated by the things life throws at me, to suddenly stumble at things that used to go well, and now don’t.
It’s time to laugh at myself when I get frustrated at life, too. Not to mock myself, but to remind myself that I can always choose joy over frustration. I can always choose doing things I can still do.
And now if you’ll excuse me, I have to rain down terror on some slimes.
And if I fail?
I laugh and try again.
It’s the only way!
