Meeting art

I can still remember the feeling of meeting this artwork.
We were in Amsterdam, and we walked the city, I was snapping pictures left and right, of buildings and people.
And then I met joy in the form of this sculpture by Alexander Calder.
When I met this artwork, I was in complete awe, staring at it with childlike wonder. I wanted to know how he made it, how he found those perfect colours. I fell in love with something that felt like so much more than metal and paint.
I fell in love with an idea. I fell in love with creativity.
This is what I love about cities, every street you turn in is a possibility of meeting art.
But this one was special. And seeing a picture of it, that many years later, still makes me smile, joyfully.
