My favourite reads in 2025
In random order, because I canāt decide. These are all 4,5 to 5 star reads.
1. Andy Weir - Project Hail Mary - This book was just so good, tense, moving and perfect.
2. Becky Chambers - To Be Taught, if Fortunate - This is a scifi novella, and it packs such a punch.
3. N.R. Walker - Upside Down - an m/m ace romance that touched my heart, so moving and gentle.
4. Clare Pooley - How to Age Disgracefully - This book was just a joy to read. The cast of characters such a delight.
5. Maiga Doocy - Sorcery and Small Magics - A cosy fantasy filled with banter. A joy to read
6. Wataru Nadatani- Cat Gamer vol 3 - I fell in love with this series for the cover of book 1. This is such a delightful manga with such recognisable cat antics.
7. Robert Jackson Bennett - The Tainted Cup - this book blew me away. What a fantastic storyteller, and I loved Ana and Din. Such clever magics too.
8. Douglas Adams - The Hitchhikerās Guide to the Galaxy (audiobook)- this was such an enjoyable listening experience. Stephen Fry is just a perfect narrator.
9. Kim Fielding - Tin Box - This book broke me. It's an m/m romance, telling both a story about two present time men falling in love and the heartbreaking story of a gay man in the 1940s. I was in tears many times throughout this book.
10. Janice Hallett - The Twyford Code - I read and loved the Appeal last year, so I had to read another one by her. This one is so wicked good.
