The scrapbook of your life
Dear Creative Soul,
Living a creative life is like filling pages in a huge scrapbook of your life.
This scrapbook awaits your colourful self. Some pages may be hard for you to look at, filled with bad memories. You can choose to still bookmark those pages, or you can tear the bookmark out, choosing to no longer let your life be dragged down by one bad moment.
You can paste in pages, choosing to overwrite those bad memories with forgiveness and hope.
Examine your book, find what blocks your creativity, and aim to overcome it, aware of the usual pitfalls (aka illusions of why you can’t create) when you do.
An example. One of the big reasons I stopped creating was health. I only have to look at creative history for inspiration to look through that and create anyway.
Matisse made some of his most beautiful work when he couldn't see, Beethoven when he couldn't hear.
Toulouse Lautrec had many physical issues, but he made stunning art that, to me, speaks only colourful joy.
