Turn the Kaleidoscope
Dear Creative Soul,
I have found that these things are all true:
- There is always going to be someone who does something you don’t understand.
- There is always going to be someone who doesn’t treat you with respect.
- There is always going to be someone who says something that make you feel sad.
- There is always going to be someone who makes you want to scream.
- There is always going to be someone who disappoints you.
We live in a world along with so many different kinds of people. Pain, anger, disappointment and confusion seem to be possible in each encounter.
It is so easy to focus on this, and to let yourself be hurt time and time again.
Do you remember those kaleidoscopes we had as kids? When you turned them, the image within changed completely.
This could be your world view. Turn the kaleidoscope and see:
- There is always going to be someone who surprises you.
- There is always going to be someone who is there to help you when things are tough.
- There is always going to be someone who knows what you talk about.
- There is always going to be someone who shares something that touches your heart.
- There is always going to be someone who loves you.
This focus change, these people, they are the ones who help your creativity. The others are just there to distract you from it.
Will you be distracted?
Create on!
Sylvia
