Week 33 2025

*Notes for the week of 11 to 17 August*

I've decided to move my Weeknotes to the Noodling Nook and to get rid of the structure I used to have in the Studio.

That way I can add my noodlings as they happen, and make it a more a notes on the week thing. You never know what I’ll add. It might get REALLY long. Well at least you can have a cup of tea while reading.

Random ramblings about the past week.

- I wrote my first short story in a long while, edited it and posted it on my blog. Fainting will now commence.
- Also wrote about my birthday, noodling (that's a core post for my blog, hence it's now linked on the front page), wrote about the overwhelming joy art can bring and finally a sad poem about alzheimer's
- It took me a LOT of energy but I FINALLY have new meds. I could write a blog post about it, but it would be a novel that Kafka could have written. Then again, I don't have to pay for my meds, so that's good.
- Love love love Avatar The Last Airbender. I want to write at length about it, share all the gifs, geek out about all the fun little things, want an Appa toy to snuggle. I mean, look at him:

- Loved the pictures in this blog post by David
- Really liked the creative way that Joel talked about his glasses
- Finished listening to the War of Art by Steven Pressfield. Gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Not for the contents, because that's excellent as always, but because listening to the audiobook made me so anxious, he reads it as if he’s in a hurry. I wish he’d hired a professional narrator!
- **Currently reading**: Jade City by Fonda Lee and To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers
- **Currently listening**: The Odyssey by Stephen Fry
- We’re subscribed to Skyshowtime for one thing, and that thing is Pokerface. I love it so so much. Charlie is such a great character, and it could have come out in such a different way. When she says BS… the best!!!
- Am reworking a 20 year old **website** into the site for Sylvia’s Studio. It’s so wonky, but I’m keeping it mostly as is, just adding new images and making some changes the validator falls over. Oh and I’m removing about 1000 javascripts. No joke!
- Jedda wrote this loving tribute to her grandmother that really moved me: A Whisper I Carry Everywhere
- I’ve started to create a new font in an app on my iPad I love to use. It’s a narrow monospace font like Victor Mono, but with a different writing style for lowercase characters than other monospace fonts. I like it. Will share more in a post next week or or or…
- I have started a new habit, trying to coax out my poetry: I'm forcing myself to write a poem each day, in my journal. I love it, actually. The poems are not all good, but the Alzheimer's poem about my mom ended up on my blog.
- a friend on Mastodon said a couple weeks ago that I should watch kpop demon hunters and I finally did. It’s brilliant!
- My website revival project is starting to take shape. It’s absolutely not mobile friendly, but I love how it looks. When I started this project I had two reasons: 1: it’s fun, 2: I wanted to see what I can steal from that blog for my new website I’m building with 11ty. It’s so much fun and I’m 90% convinced that I want to ditch the 11ty project and keep my website in html/little dash of CSS and JS :D
- I wish I read more! I'm  still processing, I think and therefore focussing on reading is a bit harder.
- I’m still blogging on sylvia.buzz because I love the simplicity of it. I do miss my little weblog though. I think I eventually may make a blend of it? All posts go up on buzz, and then I will edit/repost on studio when I feel like it. Something like that. I don’t know. If I have my static website, I will probably just make my buzz blog a subdomain of sylvia.studio.
- I may think about things a bit too much.
