Weeknotes for week 26-2026

🗓️ 22 to 28 june

The weeknotes are back! I was sitting down to edit my now page, looked for my notes for it, and found some old weeknotes instead. I realised I missed some parts of it, so here we go again :D

favourite thing this week

Such a great talk with my ergo therapist. She was so kind and showed me a great new tool to make my life even better!

writing

Not much writing due to the heatwave. I did write some blog posts I'm really happy with!

blogging

blog posts in the pipeline

  • Middelburg part 2 (seriously!)
  • A new dear creative soul letter
  • on de-digitalising

creating

  • cotton fingerless gloves for sweaty palms on keyboards. I knit a pair but that was too tight so new ones are in order
  • Am doodling a phone stand thingie for my desk that I bought for 25 cents in the thriftstore

reading

  • Martha Wells - exit strategy (on e-reader in bag)
  • Matt Haig - The midnight train

read

  • Jesse Sutanto - Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man) (audiobook) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐︎
  • Eli Easton - The Curse before Christmas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (because the heat was driving me nuts and I thought a book might cool me down hehehe)

watching

  • We have started watching the Doomies on D+ and it's awesome. Reminds me of Gravity Falls!
  • Am rewatching The Clone Wars because watching the mandalorian and grogu made me realise that I forgot some of the lore.

watched

  • We've watched the Sheep Detectives and it was so much fun!

joyful things

  • I took a LONG bath yesterday because it had cooled down a bit and I was feeling STICKY after the heatwave. It was a delight!
  • I so love having all these paint markers to play with now. I did a bit of a tidy in the office and found the dot markers I bought a while ago and lost two seconds later (chaos, thy name is Sylvia). Time to put them to work on some canvasses soon!
  • I did some daily chair yoga exercises on the warmest days, in front of my aircooler, I loved do in that, and only stopped when the heat became too much.

blog posts I’ve enjoyed reading

  • For this I point you to my Junited page that I am updating after this! There is some fantastic stuff there to peruse already.
  • I also wanted to point you to powRSS where I have found some amazing blog posts this past month.

something I’ve enjoyed using this week

I decided to give Obsidian another try as I can use it to publish to Pagecord directly, and I have to say: I like it!

something that I’m grateful for

The heatwave is OVER and I'm so so grateful for that. I managed to stop myself from overdoing, and just rested a LOT. Now it's over I'm feeling almost ready to tackle my day again while normally I would need a couple of days to adjust.

from my commonplace book

You will always struggle with not feeling productive until you accept that your own joy can be something you produce.
