Weeknotes for week 41 - 2025
🗓️ 6 to 12 October
favourite thing this week
Going to the park and seeing all the cute animals there! (and yes, I still need to put up a post with the pictures, may post it later today or tomorrow)
writing
Wrote a lot of things for my blog, some of which I can schedule for this week. I also did some light writing on my novel idea, but I'm not completely sold on it. I may write a scene later in the book that I can play with some more.
blogging
- My weeknotes for week 41 (and a bit for week 40)
- I edited and posted a fun story I wrote years ago called Elementary
- • I wrote about blogging and writing for an audience of one
- • And collected the first ten days of #Inktober in one single post
crafting
a new category on my blog, because I would love to document the things I've worked on in here too :)
- made a small purple hat for winter, that's so pretty
- am working on a granny square cardigan that I'm making up as I go along. It's so much fun :)
reading
- Laurie Gilmore - the cinnamon bun book store ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐︎ (needed a fun, light read. Loved Noah!)
- Becky Chambers - To be taught, if fortunate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (such an astonishing read, one of those books that you need to re-read the last chapter of again to feel the impact of it again)
- Amy Aislin - Christmas lane ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (just what my insomniac mind needed, such a sweet romance!)
- Amy Aislin - Gingerbread Mistletoe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐︎
- Amy Aislin - Sweet to the core ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
watching
• we’ve watched the Jackal on Skyshowtime. The first episodes were awesome, the last two felt like they were written by AI. What utter slop!
• I’ve watched season 5 of all creatures great and small. Such a beautiful show, really warms my heart. I really didn’t like this remake at first, too used to the old BBC version but it won my heart anyway.

joyful things
- Started a new wooden puzzle and omg it was so hard! I don’t know what made it so hard but I struggled with it. Finished it the next day 😁
- Went to the park on Friday and spent some time with the animals there. Such a delight.
- I have a lighted crochet hook that delights me to no end. It's just perfect for evening crochet with only one light on next to me. I used to have these elaborate lights that I could move so the light was on my hand. Now I just need soft light and my crochet hook. The most joyful thing!
blog posts I’ve enjoyed reading
- Love how Joel slowly came to the realisation that commuting on public transport has its gifts
- Love the gloomy pictures that Thomas shared in this post
- Trying to blog more, a blog post by Binarydigit that sparked all these responses by Robert, Alexandra and David
something I’ve enjoyed using this week
A little pocket filofax I've set up as an on the go notebook for my brainstorm sessions in the cafe. I love it so much. I have a to do list section up front, then daily pages, a journal, a poetry section, lists and then various forms I can use for brainstorming my writing. I can write tiny so it's perfect.
something that I’m grateful for
The bright red trees I can see out of my window. They are so gorgeous. I will have to go out to photograph them
