You are never too old
I’m bringing back something that I’ve created for an old blog of mine, years ago. These are letters to fellow creatives, each starting with “Dear Creative Soul,” as a header. I’ve recently started to read through them again and I love these letters so much.
They deserve to be online again.
I always wrote them in bursts of energy, and it shows.
Here is the first one.
Dear Creative Soul,
Does any of these excuses sound familiar?
- I’m too old to change my life.
- I’m too old to do something new.
- I’m too old to learn new skills.
- I’m too old to create again.
⠀I could write a list of at least two pages in my journal about this. Then again, if I kept listening to all that “too old” crap, this letter wouldn’t exist.
Beatrice Wood was in her eighties when ~this documentary~ was filmed. Did she act like she was too old for her creativity? Nope, she just created and enjoyed her life.
That could be you!
There is nothing that keeps you from creating.
As long as you breathe, you can create. No matter how old you are.
