This is my genre

Ever since I saw the post on Alexandra’s blog for the genre I’ve been wanting to write a post.

My genre is/has been/always will be fantasy.

I read throughout the genre, from cosy to urban fantasy to romantasy to high fantasy, I love it all.

Reading fantasy feels like coming home, the more imaginative the better.

There is one thing in fantasy I don’t like though, and that’s grimdark. I know I may one day find a series I love in that subgenre, but usually bloody battles and “everything is lost no hope at all”-books are not for me.

My absolute favourite series are the Farseer books by Robin Hobb, my favourite standalone is War for the Oaks by Emma Bull. I have a longer list of favourite female fantasy writers here 😀
